Lavender often blooms in large fields. These can be kilometers of lavender, which are especially attractive for many tourists. However, not all of them know where the most beautiful lavender fields are located.

Lordington Lavender in Chichester, United Kingdom
This West Sussex farm offers sunset views over lavender fields and live music and other activities in full bloom.
When it blooms: July is the peak of flowering.
Where to eat: In nearby East Aisling, Horse & Groom welcomes tourists looking for a hearty pub meal, such as a Scotch egg, steak sandwich after a day or evening spent in the beautiful lavender landscape.
Where to stay: Next to the farm is Lordington Park, a boutique B & B. Guests can enjoy strong drinks and snacks in the hotel’s tea room.
Senanck Abbey in Provence
Provence is one of the most famous places where you can see lavender blooming. In this abbey, monks have been growing this plant for a long time. However, it is one thing to simply observe acres of purple flowers, but quite another to see blooming plants against the backdrop of a historic stone monastery.
And for true lavender lovers, a short trip to Cabriere d’Avignon will take you to the Lavender Museum, where you can learn how lavender is used in cosmetics and for the production of essential oils.
When it blooms: Mid-June, peak flowering occurs in the first weeks of July, and harvesting occurs in August.
Where to eat: Book a table at I’ALAMBIC, a restaurant with a terrace on the banks of the Sorg River. Book the Cote de Beauf and possibly the Kir Royale.
Where to stay: Take a refreshing dip in the pool by booking at Residence Provence Country Club, which also has tennis courts and access to hiking trails. There is also a restaurant on site, as well as many other options within walking distance.
Selah Ridge Lavender Farm in Selah, Washington
This farm is located on a hillside. Its location – an agricultural mecca with excellent wines, craft breweries and seasonal produce-makes a trip to this place even more attractive.
At the farm, you can get lost wandering through the lavender fields, and perhaps even gain some knowledge, such as how lavender is processed and turned into soaps and aromatic oils. Plan your visit correctly and you will be able to join a workshop on lavender processing and distillation. The Selah Ridge Lavender Festival takes place every July.
When it blooms: It starts at the end of June, and full bloom occurs in mid-July.
Where to eat: Crafted Yakima is a farm-to-table culinary experience.
Where to stay: At the Maison Boutique Hotel, which opened in 1911 and is now part of the Hilton hotel chain. The hotel is close to shops and restaurants, and provides easy access to hiking and cycling routes.
Pine Creek Canyon Lavender Farm in Pine, Arizona
This farm has been around since the early 1900s. It is highly recommended that you take a leisurely walk around the farm to admire the plants.
Since the two varieties of lavender collected on the farm – Royal Velvet and Provence – are used in cooking, visitors can cook with lavender in the restored farmhouse kitchen.
When it blooms: From mid-June to September.
Where to eat: The Early Bird Cafe is exactly what it’s called: an early-opening breakfast spot. They serve buttery pancakes floating in gravy, and puff pastry cookies also with gravy.
Where to stay: The Strawberry Inn is a great choice for a refined mountain holiday. Choose a hotel room or stay in an Airstream or cabin for a deeper experience of nature.
Fioritura della Lavanda in Turin, Italy
In summer, the Piedmont region, of which Turin is the capital, blooms with bright shades of purple. Piedmont is known for its strong red wines and hearty dishes such as agnolotti and polenta. The sleepy village of Sale San Giovanni, with its nearly 100 acres of lavender fields, is a great place to stay.
When it blooms: From mid-June to mid-July.
Where to eat: Find traditional pasta with agnolotti meat at Consorzio, a modest place that serves traditional Piedmontese food.
Where to stay: For a luxury holiday close to the Sale San Giovanni fields, visit the Principi di Piemonte UNA Esperienze in Turin. Lavender Bee Farm in Sonoma County, USA
This family-run honey farm has over 5,000 lavender bushes and several beehives that produce pure lavender honey.
When it blooms: From mid-May to early August, the peak of flowering occurs in early-mid June
Where to eat: Visit the local oyster bar and restaurant, The Shuckery.
