The French city of Nice, which many call the capital of the Cote d’Azur, was recognized as the best destination in the world for a city break, that is, a short-term urban holiday.
This is evidenced by the latest Social Travel Index, whose authors studied the number of publications in TikTok and Instagram, search queries in Google and the growth of general interest in the most visited countries and cities in the world over the past three years.
Topping the ranking, Nice scored 8.42 out of 10 points – the city ranked third in the number of posts on TikTok and sixth in the number of posts on Instagram, which proves how popular the second largest city in France is. Experts also point out that Nice is an ideal city for hiking with beautiful beaches and magnificent blue waters. At the same time, the convenient location just 13 kilometers from Monaco and 30 kilometers from Italy gives tourists many opportunities to explore outside the city.
The second place went to the British capital of London, which has 8.17 out of 10 points – with the highest number of posts on Instagram and the second indicator for the number of posts on TikTok. London is a multi-faceted city, where everyone will find something to do: from historical attractions to fantastic places to eat and a variety of entertainment options, the authors of the rating note.
Paris rounded out the top three with 8.06 out of 10 points – the second most popular city on Instagram and the fifth most popular on TikTok. Also, the French capital has gained almost 50 thousand search queries in Google over the past three years. Experts note that Paris embodies sophistication and romance with attractions such as the Eiffel Tower and the Wall of Love, as well as boasts fantastic shopping and delicious delicacies such as pastries, cheese and wine.
