One of the best beaches in Majorca, Playa de Muro is suitable for families with children, as well as for noisy groups or solo travelers. It is often compared to the Maldives, the Caribbean and the Dominican Republic, but those who are lucky enough to visit this place, note a special atmosphere that can not be confused with any other resort.
Beach Features
Playa de Muro Beach, located in the Bay of Alcudia, is directly part of Parque Natural S’Albufera, Majorca’s largest natural park. The coastline, covered with fine golden-white sand, is just over 5 km long and 27 m wide. The entrance to the water, which has a beautiful bright turquoise hue, is very smooth and comfortable, and the shallow water line extends no less than 200 m – you can swim with children.
There are no rocks in the sea at all, the bottom is clean and sandy, so you don’t have to buy aquashouses here. True, a huge number of jellyfish live in the depths, contact with which is always accompanied by a certain amount of discomfort. The sea in this part of the resort is clean and very warm. There is almost no wind in summer, and if the waves come, it is only after lunch. Most often, this is due to the movement of huge boats arriving at the local pier. The main characteristic feature of this place is a dense pine forest that borders the entire coast and provides a long natural shadow. For sports enthusiasts, it has several treadmills.
Conventionally, the Muro beach in Majorca is divided into several parts, each of which has certain features.
Western sector
Located on the Alcudia side, it has the largest number of hotels, apartments, restaurants and cafes. It is quite busy (especially at the height of the tourist season), so you should book your vacation spots in advance. The main number of vacationers is made up of couples with children and people of the older age category.

On the territory of the beach there is a diving school, a tourist center and a small marina where you can rent a yacht or boat.
Playa de Muro II or Es Brac
Two-kilometer middle sector, equipped with all tourist amenities. There are much fewer tourists here than in the previous case. These are mostly couples and lovers of solitude.
Es Comu
Looking at the photo of the beach of Playa de Muro, it is impossible not to notice the almost wild 1.5 km beach, hidden among pine trees, high sand dunes and dense juniper thickets. Due to the lack of buildings, it is quiet and very empty-a good option for people who prefer a quiet and secluded holiday. You can only get to Es Comu by taxi or rented car (most convenient with Es Brac or Casetes des Capellans). Parking is available on both sides.

Es Capellans
Located on the side of the village of Caen Picafort. Total length-no more than 400 m. Perfect for sailing, water skiing and paragliding.
The tourist season on the beach of Playa de Muro (Mallorca) lasts from late spring to mid-autumn. The coolest months of this period are May and October – the air temperature at this time is from 22 to 24°C. The hottest days are July and August, when the air warms up to 28-30°C. There are almost no rainy or cloudy days here. The highest amount of precipitation (7-8 days per month) falls in February.
The beach infrastructure of Playa de Muro is provided with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The beach has sun beds and various water equipment rental points, toilets and showers, and special places for visitors with disabilities. Not so long ago, a booth with information about the level of ultraviolet radiation, a stun gun, a doctor’s call button and sockets for charging the phone appeared at the exit from the beach area.

Nearby there are cafes, bars and restaurants, hotels, a go-karting center and a huge hydropark. An array of activities can be enjoyed on site or in the surroundings, including volleyball, beach soccer, kayaking, catamarans, kitesurfing, and snorkeling. During the high season, professional rescuers monitor the safety of vacationers. Additional services on the beach are provided by the so-called “luki — luki” – massage therapists, fruit sellers, braids, etc.

Useful tips
If you are planning to visit Playa de Muro, listen to a number of useful tips:

- Would you like to see some local attractions? Take advantage of the tour desk’s services, which can arrange interesting routes around the island (to Cape Formentor, Alcudia, Lluc Monastery, etc.).
- You can get to the beach from Palma, the capital of Majorca, by bus number 351. The cost of the trip is about 11€.
- Those who come to the island for a traditional beach holiday should avoid late spring and autumn. At this time, the resort is very windy, and the sun is constantly hiding behind a dense curtain of clouds.
- When planning a budget, keep in mind that a holiday in Playa de Muro will cost much more than on other beaches in Majorca. It is for this reason that there are not so many young people here – they usually prefer more accessible places.
- There are almost no discos or night clubs on Playa de Muro, but if you want to have fun, go to the neighboring cities of Majorca. You can do this either by regular bus or by rented car.
