Sicily offers tourists a wide range of vacation options.
The Italian island of Sicily is primarily associated with the mafia from old movies and the constantly erupting Etna volcano by many people. However, it is also a true tourist paradise, which has recently also been recognized as the best place in Europe for solo tourists.
The British travel company eShores, which specializes in luxury vacations, has named 11 must-visit places in Sicily.
“Active volcanoes, medieval towns, picturesque coasts and sun-drenched beaches, as well as Italian culture, bustling markets, first-class cuisine and wines – this is what the beautiful island of Sicily is all about,” the authors of the selection note.
They also explained why each of the proposed destinations is attractive.
