There are many ski resorts in Europe that offer good value for money.
There is only one month left before winter, so tourists are already actively planning their winter vacations – some are choosing the best Christmas markets, and some are looking for options for outdoor activities.
Tamara Hinson, an expert on extreme tourism, has named eight of the best budget-friendly ski destinations in Europe in her blog on Lonely Planet.
“Europe has some of the world’s most amazing mountains, whether it’s the Mont Blanc massif that stretches across the border between Italy and France, or the often-underappreciated peaks in the Sierra Nevada region of Spain. As someone who has climbed many of the continent’s steepest peaks (with former Olympians or friends who were teaching their children to ski for the first time), I have developed a talent for knowing how to get the most out of my money during a ski vacation,” Hinson shares.
The expert notes that the claim that resorts with a good price-quality ratio are only found in remote locations is incorrect.
“After all, skiing on a tight budget isn’t just about paying as little as possible, but getting the best skiing experience for your hard-earned money. I have compiled the best of the best ski resorts in Europe that you can visit on a budget. I’ve included several well-known resorts – larger resorts that may cost a bit more than the cheapest in the region-but which are still a fantastic option for skiers on a tight budget, ” she explained.
