Sardinia stands out for its picturesque beaches and local cuisine.
You don’t have to go to the Maldives or other popular resorts to relax on the beautiful beaches. The island of Sardinia is located in the Mediterranean and offers a stunning coastline, writes Express.

Sardinia is called the “Maldives of Europe” because of its beautiful beaches and stunning scenery. Thanks to this reputation, a trip to the Emerald Coast can cost a lot of money.
To save money, you can visit Sardinia outside the peak season, while the weather is still good, the publication recommends. In May and June, the air temperature ranges from 20 to 28 °C, and in September it can reach 30 °C. Therefore, it is cheaper to travel in the off-season.
The publication recommends visiting the beaches of Spiaggia del Principe and Liscia Ruia on the famous Costa Smeralda. Cala Luna and Cala Mariolu are ideal for a more private stay.
Alternatively, tourists can hike to the historic site of Tiscali, which is surrounded by incredible mountains in the Gennargentu National Park. The publication also recommends visiting Cagliari (the capital of the island), which has its own amazing historical sites, including the Roman Amphitheater.
Another special feature of Sardinia is the variety of local cuisine. The publication noted that on the island you can try stuffed pasta culurgiones, Sardinian gnocchi malloreddus and pecorino cheese.
