It’s easy to lose track of money at Disneyland, so it’s important to plan your visit carefully.
Many tourists dream of visiting one of the famous Disneyland amusement parks located in different countries around the world at least once in their lives. Some people want to give their children unforgettable experiences, while others want to please their “inner child.”
However, many people also understand that visiting the Disney Park is quite expensive – and even so, the same Disneyland Paris is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe, writes The Express.
In turn, a true Disneyland fan, Portia Jones, who visits this amusement park in Paris every year, gave some tips on how not to go broke in her blog on Wales Online.
“I’m a big fan of Disneyland Paris, and I try to visit the ‘most magical place on Earth’ every time I visit Paris. While it’s a popular destination, the costs can quickly add up, and it’s easy to go over budget in the French capital. However, by carefully planning your trip and making smart choices, you can experience the magic of Paris and Disneyland without breaking the bank or missing out on the charm of this city of lights,” said the experienced traveler.
How to save money at Disneyland Paris
1. Avoid crowds and high prices. Jones explains that the most important thing here is to choose the right time to visit.
“If you can afford flexible dates, avoid school holidays, weekends, and major holidays like Christmas and Halloween. These are peak periods when prices and crowds are at their highest. Instead, aim for quieter times, such as the middle of the week from January to March or from September to November. Not only will you get cheaper tickets and hotels, but you’ll also spend less time waiting in lines and more time enjoying the attractions,” she said.Advertisementad
2. Stay overnight outside the Disneyland area. According to a seasoned traveler, while the Disney theme hotel may seem convenient, it can also consume a significant portion of a guest’s budget. Instead, consider staying outside the resort, such as in nearby towns like Cerri or Chessy.
3. Take the train. “The RER A line is the best choice for your budget when visiting Disneyland in Paris. It connects the center of Paris with the park, making it very convenient to get there if you stay nearby. You’ll avoid parking fees and the stress of driving, and the cost of taking the RER is a fraction of the cost of staying at a Disneyland hotel. A quick and easy trip for just a few euros? Yes, please,” Jones said.
4. Bring snacks and drinks with you. A seasoned tourist notes that the food prices at Disneyland Paris are too high, so it’s a good idea to bring snacks and a reusable water bottle to save money.
“You can bring food into the park, so stock up on sandwiches, chips, and fruit before you arrive. There are plenty of water fountains scattered throughout the park where you can refill your bottle, so you won’t have to pay exorbitant prices for drinks. Trust me, this snack supply will come in handy when you’re waiting in line for Pirates of the Caribbean,” advises Jones.
5. Take a closer look at the tickets. “Don’t just visit the official Disneyland website, but also explore other websites! There are often great deals available on third-party websites like Magic Breaks or Wowcher, and if you plan to spend more than a day there, multi-day tickets can significantly reduce the cost,” she notes.
In addition, the girl advises you to keep an eye out for special offers or packages that include transportation or accommodation.
6. Avoid spending on souvenirs. Jones admits that Disneyland is full of tempting shops, but all those “Mickey Mouse ears and plush toys” quickly empty guests’ wallets.
“Instead, consider purchasing Disney-themed souvenirs before your trip – many of them can be found online or in local stores for a fraction of the price. Bring Disney-themed souvenirs with you and you can save a fortune while taking Instagram-worthy photos in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle,” the traveler advises.
7. Plan your day like a pro. According to Jones, one of the easiest ways to avoid unnecessary spending at Disneyland Paris is to plan your day in advance. To do this, you should download the Disneyland app to find out the waiting times for attractions, the schedule of performances, and to book a breakfast with characters and restaurant menus.
“You can plan your day more effectively by avoiding expensive lunches and long queues. Additionally, consider starting your day early and taking advantage of shorter queues in the morning, as this not only allows you to ride more attractions but also saves you from having to wait all day for snacks,” she concluded.
