Crystal-clear waters and few tourists: experts name a little-known island in the Canary Islands

According to tourists, this is one of the best places on the planet for scuba diving.

The Canary Islands have been a popular holiday destination for tourists for many years. Islands like Tenerife and Lanzarote are known for having lively resorts and beautiful beaches, but during peak season they are often crowded with tourists.

At the same time, the Mirror talked about the lesser-known Canary Island, which not only boasts spectacular landscapes and clear water, but also has almost no tourists.

This is El Hierro Island, which has been recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve due to its dense forests, volcanic landscapes, pine trees and weathered rocks.

“This is a popular destination for divers, who are attracted to the crystal waters rich in diverse marine fauna, not to mention the fact that the waters are so clear that on a clear day you can see at depths of up to 30 meters,” the article says.

According to representatives of the Canary Islands tourism industry, this is “one of the best places on the planet for scuba diving.”

It is worth noting that there are not many beaches in Hierro, but swimming enthusiasts can enjoy natural pools with blue water.

In particular, Charko Azul, nicknamed the “Blue Pond”, never ceases to amaze visitors with its turquoise water, which is hidden at the foot of a volcanic rocky shore.

“The island’s small size means that it can be easily explored on foot, and the trails will take you through some of the most beautiful areas, from the pine forests to the coast. One of the main attractions is the Camino de Hinama, an ancient route that was once used by the locals. It is only about three kilometers long, but it is worth the effort (although there are some steep sections), if only for the incredible views of Hierro that it offers,” adds Mirror.

There are not many clubs, bars, or hotels here, but you can find eco-friendly hotels that cater to different budgets.
