Budget European destinations named without crowds of tourists

Visiting these cities will bring a lot of fun and will not hit your wallet.

If you want to visit a beautiful European city, but without the crowds of tourists, try these little-known destinations.

Travel enthusiast TikToker @sandymakessense shared some destinations in Europe that you “probably never heard of”, but where you can fully enjoy your vacation, writes Express.

Paris is the most visited city in Europe with 50 million tourists a year, followed by London with 40 million visitors and Rome with more than 35 million tourists a year.

But if you want something less fussy than these beautiful but very busy cities, then @sandymakessense has the places for you. “Here are three budget destinations where you can avoid the crowds in 2025,” she wrote.

Riga, Latvia

For those who are looking for a colorful and cozy place full of coffee shops, markets with the opportunity for vintage shopping, unusual bars and an art scene, add Riga, the capital of Latvia, to the list, the traveler advised.

The center of Riga is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its Art Nouveau/Art Nouveau style and 19th-century wooden architecture.

According to the reviews of tourists, “the Latvian capital Riga is full of historical buildings, museums and attractions,” so you can spend at least a couple of days visiting it.

Andalusia, Spain

Then @sandymakessense recommended “a region of Spain that looks like you’re in Morocco.”

“Arab cultural influences and Spanish traditions make Andalusia one of my favorite destinations in Europe. Bargain in the bazaars and admire the architecture and funny local customs, ” the tourist advised.

Lonely Planet writes about this Spanish region: “Andalusia is a year-round destination. Long days, lots of sun and sand are just some of the reasons to come to Andalusia. Water sports are available all year round: kayakers, snorkelers, swimmers and kitesurfers flock to the Costa de la Luz and Costa del Sol beaches.”

Gdansk and Sopot, Poland

@sandymakessense’s latest suggestion was to try Gdansk and Sopot in Poland, “where you can spend a very trendy, colorful and cool city vacation.”

Moreover, this can be followed by a “relaxing Baltic spa vacation in one of the best resort cities in Europe”.

Blogger Where Goes Rose shared that Gdansk is worth a visit as “all the buildings here are beautiful”, the nightlife is fantastic, and it’s also cheap.
