Beautiful landscapes and medieval houses: named island in Croatia for the perfect trip

This island is not crowded with tourists, and less than 6 thousand people live on it.

Croatia is known for having many summer resorts. While there are cities like Dubrovnik and Split that appeal to visitors in winter, there are less-explored regions where you can see the scenic beauty without large crowds.

We are talking about one magical little island of Korcula, which took the second place in the list of the most underrated destinations in Croatia according to VIP Holiday Booker.

A total of 5,950 people live on the island. Korcula also has some of the cleanest waters in the Adriatic, with many pebble beaches and secluded coves.

The most popular beaches are Lumbarda, Waja and Bilin Zal, which is located near the city.

The island is also covered with vineyards, olive groves and pine forests, making it a paradise for those who love nature. In addition, Korcula is ideal for hiking and cycling to enjoy views of the Adriatic and the surrounding islands.

Korcula also has medieval city walls and several defensive towers. The most famous of them is the Tower of Saint Blaise, which offers views of the city and the sea.

In particular, tourists were struck by the beauty of this island, and on Tripadvisor noted its pedestrian accessibility and historical charm.

“Korcula is amazing! We really enjoyed the day when we walked around the island, and we found out that Marco Polo (a famous merchant and traveler – UNIAN) may have originated from here, since during his lifetime Korcula was part of Venice, ” said one of the visitors.

Another tourist wrote:

“A beautiful island off the coast of Croatia. We arrived by TP Line ferry from Dubrovnik (two hours). The old town of Korcula is amazing. Ancient buildings surrounded by a stone wall. Stunning sea views and lots of small public beaches.”
