This landmark of Ashdod can not be called popular and very visited. Probably for this reason, the authorities do not pay enough attention to the care and restoration of the fortress, which is located a few kilometers from the harbor. In the local dialect, the name sounds – Castellum Beroar. The landmark dates back to the 8th century and was built as a port defensive structure.
