All attractions within 800 meters: named the best city for hiking

Florence is the most convenient city for historical sightseeing.

The Italian city of Florence is the most convenient city in Europe for hiking. This is evidenced by the results of a study of the investment site Insider Monkey.

Experts of the resource compared the distance between the most popular tourist attractions and analyzed the air quality in cities. So, in Florence, all the main attractions are located within a radius of about 800 meters from each other, and the city center can be reached on foot within two hours, the researchers say.:

“Florence’s traffic flows through its historic center, where narrow alleys lead to landmarks such as the Cathedral and the Ponte Vecchio”

It is noted that the entire historic center, which is a UNESCO site, is home to exciting attractions such as the Uffizi Gallery, the Ponte Vecchio, the Piazza della Signoria, the Piazza del Duomo and the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, which are easily accessible on foot.

It is worth adding that the top 10 best cities for hiking also included:

  • Riga (Latvia)
  • Hamburg (Germany)
  • Porto (Portugal)
  • Madrid (Spain)
  • Edinburgh (United Kingdom)
  • Tallinn (Estonia)
  • Stockholm (Sweden)
