Interest in the city of Salerno has increased by more than 200%.
The city of Salerno in southern Italy has been recognized as the most trendy tourist destination to visit in 2026.
According to a fresh 2026 Trending Destinations report by Skyscanner, interest in this seaside town in the Campania region, which separates the popular Amalfi Coast from the Calabria Peninsula, has increased by 211% compared to last year.
“With its sea views and historic center, Salerno is a charming coastal town and an affordable alternative to the popular nearby Amalfi and Positano,” the authors of the selection note.
In total, the list includes ten tourist destinations that are currently experiencing a surge in interest.
“Our travel experts have analyzed the data and selected 10 destinations that have seen the largest year-on-year increase in search queries to help travelers experience the buzz before it becomes mainstream,” the report states.
