Bansko

A cozy ancient town located at the foot of the Pirin Mountains, Bansko is within the Pirin National Park, known for its mirror-like lakes and dense forests. The town itself is rich in historical heritage.
Nearby is a large ski resort that attracts many winter sports enthusiasts, both locals and foreigners. Bansko is a modern complex equipped with slopes of varying difficulty. There are three skiing zones.

The highest points of descent range from 1450 m to 2000 m.
There is enough space for everyone. Beginners settle on the gentle and wide slopes, while professionals test their skills on the challenging “Stenata” route with steep sections. There are also slopes for snowboarders and slalom enthusiasts. Ski schools are open with no age restrictions, and experienced instructors provide professional guidance for both children and their parents.

On the outskirts of the town, on the mountain slopes, is the Metchi Chal (Bear Peak) area, a resort complex of small hotels and cottages. The overall service level is low, intended for budget vacations, but all essential services are provided.
Chala is the highest point of the ski complex, with 7 slopes of varying difficulty. There are routes for both beginners and professionals. The total length of all slopes is 13 km.
Chepelare also features a 30 km track for cross-country skiing and a 5 km section for biathletes. A ski school is open for beginners, with instructors ready to teach both adults and children quickly.
Tourists can diversify their vacation with excursions to Sofia, Plovdiv, and Pamporovo. A hiking trip to the Rozhen Observatory 15 km away offers a panoramic view of the Rhodope Mountains.

Vitosha

Located 70 kilometers from Sofia at an altitude of 1,300 meters is Borovets, Bulgaria’s oldest and most prestigious resort. Surrounded by centuries-old coniferous forests, the town bustles with active tourist life, possessing all the achievements of modern infrastructure. You can reach Borovets by public transport. From Sofia’s bus station, you need to get to the town of Samokov. Then a bus will take vacationers to Borovets. The journey takes about an hour. The skiing area spreads from 1,350 to 2,560 meters in altitude. It consists of three areas: Sitnyakovo, Yastrebets, and Markudjik.
Vacationers have access to slopes for both professional skiers and beginners in winter sports. Novices will appreciate the large number of green, gentle, and wide routes. Experienced athletes can hone their skills on winding red descents. For young tourists, there are children’s sports schools and specialized playgrounds with attractions. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts have access to 20 kilometers of snowy trails that run through wooded areas.
Borovets offers its guests a wide range of entertainment for all tastes. After an active sports day, tourists can swim in the pool, take a helicopter ride, relax in the fitness center, or take a walk to picturesque high-mountain lakes.

Dobrinishte

You can get here by bus from Sofia. The distance between the capital of Bulgaria and the village is 165 kilometers. In the tourist area, vacationers will find luxurious hotels, small chalets, bars, restaurants, thermal pools, a fitness center, and spa salons.
In Dobrinishte, athletes will find a variety of trails suitable for their skill level. From an altitude of 2,227 meters, blue, red, and black routes spread out, with a total length reaching 7 kilometers. A distinctive feature of the skiing area is the absence of wide ski sections. Of particular interest are the giant slalom descents with slopes of up to 30 degrees.

Uzana

In the very heart of the country, there is a place called Uzana. This resort is still little known, so it can be a real discovery for vacationers with children and eco-tourism enthusiasts. It is located just 22 km from the city of Gabrovo, within the territory of the “Bulgarka” National Nature Park. Uzana is one of the most beautiful places. It’s truly a paradise corner.

The park itself is under the protection of the international organization UNESCO and is included in the list of natural heritage. In the winter season, 8 trails are prepared and offered to vacationers. Their total length is no more than 3 kilometers. The longest, “red” trail is 1300 m. The rest are significantly shorter. For the convenience of vacationers, ski lifts are in operation.
As it is located in a protected area, mini-hotels and private guest houses are offered for accommodation here. Lovers of the exotic can take advantage of the hospitality of local residents and stay in their mountain homes. Uzana welcomes guests not only in the snowy winter season but throughout the year. In spring, summer, and autumn, cycling and mountaineering enthusiasts come here.
Hiking enthusiasts find satisfaction for their needs. From here, you can make an ascent to Shipka and to the summit of Buzludzha. The popular “Kom-Emine” route passes through the reserve, starting from the shores of the Black Sea and ending on the Adriatic coast. All vacationers are provided with a unique opportunity to touch history and culture by visiting the open-air ethnographic museum “Etara”, the nearby “Sokolovski” monastery, and the towns of Bozhentsi and Tryavna.
