The beaches of Majorca have turned the island into one of the most sought-after resorts in the world. Soft sandy surface, warm azure sea, lush green palm trees – all this is just a small part of what awaits tourists on the coast. Some beaches are distinguished by a well-equipped infrastructure, others offer ideal conditions for recreation with children, and still others completely amaze the imagination with their pristine landscapes. Of course, at first glance, all of them seem ideal for a vacation, but each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, we decided to study the issue in detail and compiled our own selection of the best beaches in Mallorca.
Playa de Muro
This place is included in the list of the best beaches in Palma de Mallorca and is primarily distinguished by its golden-white sandy surface, juicy turquoise waters and smooth entry into the water. Rest here will be comfortable for both families with children and young people. Playa de Muro is part of the largest natural park in Majorca, and tourists who have visited the coast emphasize its unique atmosphere. You can read more about the popular beach in our separate article.

Playa del Puerto de Pollensa
The beach is located in the north of Mallorca in the town of Puerto de Pollensa, which is located 60 km northeast of Palma. The length of the coast here reaches almost 1.5 km, but the coast is quite narrow. The beach is covered with soft sand, there are almost no waves, and the entrance to the water is uniform here, so it is quite safe to swim with a child. In addition, an inflatable town in the water is provided for small visitors on the territory. So Puerto de Pollensa is deservedly considered one of the best beaches in Mallorca for families with children.
The infrastructure on the coast offers all the necessary amenities. Umbrellas and sun beds are available for an additional fee (the rental price for two persons is 15€). Showers and restrooms are available on site. The big plus of the place is a rich selection of bars and restaurants lined up along the coastline.

But the obvious disadvantage of the beach was its liveliness, and if you consider that the coast is quite narrow, then you will not find a quiet and secluded holiday here. In addition, garbage is often found in the sand. But, in general, the place is worth it and is considered one of the best options for a holiday in the north of Majorca.
Kala Mesquida
It is this coastal area that often flashes in the picturesque photos of white sand beaches in Majorca. A place called Cala Mesquida is located in the north-east of the island in the town of the same name, which is 82 km away from Palma. The coastline here stretches for 300 m, and the coast itself is quite wide, in some points reaching 65 m. Cala Mesquida stands out for its fine white sand and azure sea. But the entrance to the water here is steep, there are often strong waves, so it is not very convenient to relax with children.
The level of infrastructure of Cala Mesquida leaves much to be desired. For example, there is a shower on site, but only a few people can find it (it is located on the left side of the hill behind the restaurant). There are no private toilets on site, so vacationers actively visit the coastal bar. But sun beds with umbrellas are easy to rent here: a set for two for the whole day will cost €12.20.

There is a parking lot near the shore, but it can only be used by those who come to rest early in the morning. In addition to the bar near the coast, there are a couple of good establishments and a couple of hundred meters from the recreation area. Despite a number of shortcomings in terms of infrastructure, in general, Cala Mesquida is considered one of the best and most picturesque white sand beaches in Majorca.
Kala Molins
In the list of the best beaches in Majorca, it is impossible not to mention the town of Cala Molins, which is located in the north of the island in the city of Cala Sant Vincense, located 60.5 km from Palma. The coast is bordered by sharp cliffs and green hills, which creates unforgettable views. The beach itself is miniature, no more than 200 m long, and is known for its calm atmosphere. The beach is covered with clear yellow sand, but the entrance to the water is uneven and rocky, you will need coral slippers. You can often see large waves, so swimming here with children is not a good idea.

The main feature of Cala Molins is its crystal clear water. Many people come here to go snorkeling and admire the local marine life. The beach offers all the necessary amenities: sun beds and umbrellas can be rented. There are restrooms and showers. There are several bars and restaurants near the beach, and parking is available. The disadvantage of the beach is seaweed and mud, which from time to time washes up to the shore. Otherwise, Cala Molins is not inferior to other places in Majorca, delighting visitors with its soft sand, bright palm trees and clear sea.
Alcudia
If you are looking for beaches in Majorca for a holiday with children, then Alcudia may be the best choice. The place is located 56 km northeast of Palma. Many families have long noticed this coast and loved it for its soft sand, lush palm trees, gentle entrance to the sea, cleanliness and lack of waves. In addition, the beach offers almost the best infrastructure in Mallorca. Read more about Alcudia here.

Cala Gran
If you look at the map of Palma de Mallorca, the best beaches can be found almost anywhere on the island. So, in the south-eastern side, we found the beach of Cala Gran in the resort of Cala d’Or, which separates from Palma 66 km. Located in a picturesque bay surrounded by pine trees, it attracts the attention of many tourists, so it is often crowded. At the same time, the length of the coast barely reaches 70 m.
Cala Gran is dotted with fine yellowish sand, washed by a clear transparent sea, which creates excellent conditions for scuba diving. There are no waves here, and the entrance to the water is smooth and comfortable.

The beach infrastructure is fully equipped: there are public showers and restrooms. All-day umbrellas and sun beds can be rented for 17.50 € . A variety of restaurants, cafeterias and pizzerias can be found within walking distance. In general, if you get used to a large number of vacationers, the beach of Cala Gran is one of the best for a holiday in Majorca.
Cala Marsal
Having studied the beaches of Majorca on the map and their description, many travelers still do not dare to choose the best place to stay. After all, there are a lot of options, and most of them are very worthy. As for the beach of Cala Marsal, many tourists who have visited here agreed that it is worth visiting the place. Although this is a miniature piece of coast with a length of no more than 80 m, there are always enough vacationers here. And the beach is so popular due to its picturesque views, soft sand, juicy palm trees and azure water.
On Cala Marsal, you can find both shallow water areas for children and deep spots for adults. The beach is equipped with the necessary amenities: there is a shower and toilets, and for 10 € you can rent sun beds and umbrellas with a safe. But many are lying on the sand on towels.

Catamarans can also be rented on site. Nearby there is an Italian restaurant, there are a couple of cozy cafes. Free street parking is available within walking distance. Cala Marsal is indeed one of the best beaches in the south-east of Mallorca. The only thing that can slightly overshadow the rest is a strong wind that brings mud and garbage to the shore.
Mondrago
If you look at this beach of Majorca on the map, you can see that it is located in the Mondrago Nature Reserve, which is located 62.5 km southeast of Palma. The local coast is a picturesque bay surrounded by pine forests and rocks. The beach is characterized by silky white sand, clear blue sea and gentle entry into the water. This is one of the best places for swimming with children, because waves are a rare phenomenon here.

Mondrago’s infrastructure includes fresh water showers, restrooms, and rental of umbrellas and sun beds. It is not forbidden to sunbathe on the sand on your towel. There are two cafes near the shore. Lack of space: locals walk along the beach, offering to buy fruit from them at several times the price. There is a paid car park on the top floor, where you can park your car for € 5. In general, this is a rather cozy corner, which definitely deserves the title of one of the best beaches in Mallorca with white sand.
Calo des Moros
A beautiful place, 58 km away from Palma, is located in the town of Cala s’alomnia in the southwestern part of the island. And if you’re still wondering where the best beaches are in Majorca, then make sure to check out Calo des Moro. This is a rather inaccessible bay, hidden among steep rocks, which, in fact, you need to go down to get to the shore. Below you will find a strip of land no more than 50 m long, strewn with white sand and huge blocks of stone. Rocks also dot the sea floor, and it will be quite dangerous to enter and exit the water without special shoes.

Calo des Moro can be attributed to the wild beaches of Majorca, because there is no infrastructure here. Mostly tourists sunbathe on the sand on their towels. In high season, the beach is crowded. First of all, it will appeal to those who like to visit unique corners. A nice bonus of the area is several observation decks, which offer unforgettable views of natural beauty.
Samarador
Among the white sand beaches of Majorca, Samarador, located 59 km southeast of Palma in the Mondrago Nature Reserve, deserves special attention. Surrounded by rocks and coniferous trees, the local coast was once recognized as the best beach in Europe (in 2008). Samarador is distinguished by a spacious beach stretching for a distance of almost 200 m. Bright turquoise sea water, small waves, soft white sand-all this awaits travelers on this picturesque beach of Mallorca.

Of course, the place has its drawbacks. First of all, there is no infrastructure here – there are not even toilets. Secondly, the water in the sea is much cooler compared to other coasts. And third, because of the current, seaweed often accumulates near the shore, which is why swimming brings little pleasure. But if you close your eyes to all these disadvantages, you will get one of the best beaches in Mallorca (it is not so easy to see it on the map, so look for the original name of Playa De S’amarador).
Cala Millor
Just one look at the photos of the beaches of Palma de Mallorca makes you want to immediately pack your bags and go to the island. And if you are already going to the resort and are looking for decent places to relax, then Cala Miglior can be one of the best solutions. The resort is located in the north-east of Majorca, 71 km from Palma. It is famous for its wide beach, the length of which reaches almost 2 km. The coast is covered with yellow sand, which is sifted every morning by a special machine, so the place is always quite clean. But the bottom here is uneven, there are stones, and storms happen quite often.
There are showers and toilets on Cala Miglior, but there are no changing rooms, as on most beaches of Majorca. Rent a sunbed with an umbrella will cost 4.5 €. Along the coastline there are numerous hotels, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets.

During the high season, many tourists gather here, and nudists are often found. In summer, you should be especially careful in the sea, because there are jellyfish in the water. After storms, the sand near the shore is usually covered with clumps of algae, but in the morning they are removed by garbage collectors. If you ignore these small disadvantages, then Cala Miglior will be a great place for a beach holiday, one of the best in Majorca.
Aggula
The north-eastern coast of Majorca never ceases to delight tourists with its cozy corners. The town of Cala Aggula, located 80 km from Palma, is one of them. The 500-meter-long local beach is dotted with soft white sand, which sometimes plays with pink shades. Turquoise clear water, mountain landscapes and coniferous trees attract a lot of tourists, so it can be quite crowded on the shore during the season. The place is great for families with children, as the water is shallow and the entrance to the sea is even.

Kala Aggula is quite well-maintained: there are showers at the exit, there is a toilet. Sun beds with umbrellas can be rented for 7.80€. Nearby there is a large paid parking lot, which provides parking spaces for 5 € per day. There are two establishments in the immediate vicinity, but their prices are quite high (for example, a bottle of 0.5 water costs at least 2€). On the shore, water activities are offered, there is an opportunity to rent a boat. Overall, this picturesque white sand bay deserves to be called one of the best beaches in Majorca.
Formentor
Photos of the beaches of Majorca are not always able to convey all the beauty and uniqueness of the island’s nature. But when you look at the pictures of Formentor, it immediately becomes clear that the place is very picturesque. It is located in the very north of Majorca, 74 km from Palma. The local coastline is quite narrow, but long (just over 300 m). The beach is characterized by fine light sand, clear sea, and the absence of large waves. The entrance to the sea is accompanied by stones, so coral slippers do not hurt here.

Formentor, being one of the best beaches in Majorca, has all the amenities: there are restrooms and showers, a set of two sun loungers with umbrellas is available for rent for 24 €. Nearby there is a paid parking lot, where you can park your car for 6-7 €. There are several cafes and bars near the shore, but their prices are too high. At the height of the season, the beach is very busy, and even in September there are no fewer tourists here. Of course, this popularity is due to the incredible views of the mountains and the azure sea, so even the high cost of the place does not prevent you from having a pleasant holiday here.
Es-Trenc

A place called Es Trenc is located in the south of Majorca, 52 km from Palma. First of all, it became famous for its snow-white sand, juicy turquoise sea and well-equipped infrastructure.
